Barack Obama’s tumblr retweeted a someecard that said “Vote like your ladyparts depend on it.” Conservatives freaked out that the campaign would ‘reduce you to the sum of your #LadyParts’, and now they’re tweeting about how ~*misogynistic*~ it is to acknowledge that genitalia exists and matters. Because they would never reduce someone to their capacity to make babies! Never ever!

Now #Ladyparts is trending on twitter with a bunch of sanctimony pony conservatives saying Barack Obama only cares about women’s genitals. Or something. I don’t even know.

There is valid criticism to be made of the term “ladyparts” - some people feel that it’s transphobic, because not every lady has a vagina, and not everyone with a vagina identifies as a lady. To me, personally, I have no problem with it, because my definition of “ladyparts” is “the parts you have, as a lady.” If you identify as a lady, whatever is between your legs is your ladyparts. I also generally chafe at the idea of anyone policing how someone refers to their genitalia.

But in this context, the idea that conservatives are the ones who are treating women as real people instead of walking uteruses is LAUGHABLE. And that Obama’s campaign is at fault for, what, saying Dems are better for women? yeah no.
